Our Lesson Program

Our program warmly welcomes riders of all levels, from true beginners to advanced competitors. All horses in our program are family-owned schoolmasters, allowing riders to learn and compete without the need to own or lease a horse. Astilbe Equestrian proudly offers lessons, camps, and shows in a supportive, professional, and fun environment where riders—and horses—can truly thrive. Contact us today to get started!

These various training options provide flexibility to your individual training needs.

All lessons (other than the introductory lesson) are offered in packages only to encourage consistency, progress, and effective scheduling.

Introductory Lesson

  • This “one time session” is a great way to get an introduction to the sport of equestrian.
  • 30-45 minutes in length

1 Hour Private Lessons

  • Private lessons provide individualized instruction tailored to each rider’s goals, experience, and progression.

1/2 Hour Private Lessons

  • Current lesson students requesting flat-only or skill-focused sessions
  • Young riders building confidence and foundational skills
  • Riders preparing to transition into full private lessons

Meet Our Horses


“AE Indigo Skyfall” aka Indy
Lesson Horse

Indy is a 13 year-old Paint who is an experienced Hunter with an extensive show record. He has used for IEA and by the Purdue Equestrian Team. Suitable for any level of rider.

“Kentucky Sundown” aka Sunny
Retired pasture resident

Sunny is our 16 year old retired OTTB. Sunny has been with the family as a loving companion for 10 years

“AE Cloud 9” aka Nimbus
Lesson horse

Nimbus is a 10 year old quarter pony suitable for kids and small adults, with a very sweet personality. This little pony loves to jump!

“Kameo HF” aka Mango
Personal horse

Mango is a 10 year old KWPN with a kind heart and a love for dressage. She is owned by the head trainer and her mom, but plays in the program.

“Pecos Bill” aka Pecos
Farm time keeper

Pecos Bill the Mini Donkey is a rescue donkey who began his life in Indiana – the Sauce’s adopted him and he is now the most vocal member of the family.
